A busy Super Bowl Sunday despite COVID-19

This year’s Super Bowl event saw Punchh platform register an increasing user engagement with brands. Looking at the same brand sales, there has been an uptick of 19.27% increase in transaction volume YoY compared to the Super Bowl Sunday in 2020.

What’s different this year though is the increased (but not surprising) engagement in online channel. Between 2019 and 2020, the increase in online transaction volume (looking at same brand sales) on Super Bowl events is 10.06%. In comparison, the increase in online transaction volume between 2020 and 2021 is 21.23%

In terms of no.of campaigns sent out in previous years compared to this year, it is an increase of 13.83%.

Another interesting insight is the shift in the communication channels that brands are engaging with users. While the no.of emails sent for 2021 Super Bowl has increased 133% YoY (incl. existing and newly joined brands on the platform), the no.of push notifications (sent through the APP developed by Punchh for the brands) has increase 250% YoY!

Similarly, the number of users reached out increased 85% YoY. Whereas the number of offers redeemed increased by 45%.
